1D/2D Pro Rodeo Horse
2011 AQHA Bay Gelding - 16 hands tall
Bamberg is sired by Valiant Hero, a son of First Down Dash and out of a Stakes Placed Thoroughbred mare, Fashion Lover. Bamberg has had all his training done right here. We broke him as a baby for the race track & then he went out west to race. Coming back as a late two year old, he was turned out for a few months, then we got back riding Bamberg as a three year old. We hauled him a lot as a 3 year old to see the sights and get seasoned. We had entered & paid up Bam Bam in the BFA Juvenile in Oklahoma City as well as Fort Smith, but he didn't attend, he wasn't ready for them. I had high hopes to Futurity Bam Bam but he wasn't going to be an early horse & making a nice horse for the long haul was our priority. Bam had little to no pressure as a four year old, we brought Bam Bam on slowly, building his confidence with each time he entered the pen. I also was pregnant his 4 year old year & he baby sat me great. I rode and competed on Bam til I was 8 months pregnant. He had a well deserved vacation while we welcomed Rory into the world. Then Bam Bam came back even better!
Bamberg is a finished & seasoned Barrel Horse. He is a solid 1D & 2D money & buckle winner. Bam Bam has been entered in two Open Rodeos & won them both & has been ina . He has been entered in a handful of PRCA Rodeos and placed at several. Bam has won & placed at WPRA Barrel Races and also has been winning money in the pole bending. Bam Bam will be getting hauled & seasoned this summer for the Pro Rodeos.
Last fall (September -December 2016) Bam won the Guerney Rodeo in Branford with nearly 50 entries, Bam had a Top 10 time at the Tour Of Champions in Ocala, Top 10 at Racing For Katie (243 entries) & top 10 time at Team Hoyt Benefit in Williston, 1D 5th place at the NBHA in Branford with 150 entries. Top 10 time at the Running Strong for Kelly Benefit in Dade City (Bam had never been there before) and he finished 2D 5th with 150 entries, a new arena record being ran and only 5 horses in the 1D, Bam also came back an hour after his run and ran the "Cowboy Race" with Rex and won 1st place there and a belt buckle. We took Bam to the Fiddlers Turkey Run on Saturday & Sunday. He had tough luck an tipped barrels both goes, but had a 2D time Saturday (he had clocked a 1D Time with a 15.6 til his stable mate went in and put 2/10s on everyone and won it with a 15.0) and on Sunday he clocked 1D!!! A 15.5 and a 15.08 won it. Bam was 1D 5th out of 175 at the Christmas Chaos Barrel Race and had a would have been top 10 time at the Strut Your Stuff the next day.
Bam started the New Year (2017) clocking 1D at the Stopanio Memorial on Friday, placing 2D on Saturday and having the 11th fastest time on Sunday. The following weekend at the NO BULL BARRELS in Jacksonville Bam Bam clocked 2D on Friday, went to an Open Rodeo Friday night and WON IT, then came back to have the top 15th fastest time on Saturday qualifying in the 1D to the Shootout and came back Sunday to place in the 2D. Bam was just out of placing at the Ocala Pro Rodeo, placing at Davie Pro Rodeo & Greencove Springs! He won the Brighton Barrel Bash on Saturday with 250 entries and had the fastest time of the weekend. Bam won the District 8 NBHA in Branford with 150 entries on April 15th.
My main goal for the summer of 2017 is to get Bamberg seasoned for the Pro Rodeos. He has always been the back up horse to Maximum Gold & Tropical Depression. Watch for Bam Bam this summer!
